A "Bad Challenge" in game design in the "The Four Elements of Game Design: Part 1" is defined as making a game too easy or too hard. A game I've tried that fits this description is Getting Over it with Bennett Foddy. It is a bad game because, it seems almost impossible to win. It is a game designed to test your patients and see if you can last till the very end, even if that means starting almost completely over again and again. You have to have a very good grip on the rocks for the hammer to stay on or push off of. Everyone who has played it has lost their temper or stopped playing all together with how difficult the game is. |
